Das Theaterstück "39 Steps" im Piccadilly Criterion Theatre war ein wunderbares Erlebnis.
Die Karten hatte ich vorab Online in Deutschland reserviert. Wir haben die Karten dann ca. 4 Stunden vor der Aufführung an der Theaterkasse abgeholt. Völlig problemlos.
Das Criterion Theatre, direkt am Piccadilly Circus gelegen (Circle line/ Piccadilly Circus Station), ist ein Theater mit dem Flair der 1920er Jahre. Die Beinfreiheit auf den Plätzen ist etwas eingeschränkt, was aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die vorderen Plätze im Dress Circle. Es gibt eine Bar, an der man Getränke kaufen kann, die man auch an den Sitzplatz mitnehmen kann.
Das Theaterstück "39 Steps" von Alfred Hitchkock wurde von vier Darstellern aufgeführt, die mit sehr viel Spaß und Temperament in die vielen verschiedenen Rollen geschlüpft sind. Die dabei gezeigten schauspielerischen Leistungen waren hervorragend, wie auch die Bühnenbilder mit ihrer Schlichtheit und Abwechslungsfähigkeit beeidruckt haben. Das Stück war etwa zwei Stunden lang, unterbrochen durch eine 15min. Pause. Es waren zwei wunderbare Stunden, in denen wir sehr viel gelacht haben und ungemein viel Spaß hatten.
